Angel Valentín graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Angel has worked as a resource coordinator with Food Finders Food Bank. He has also interned in the U.S. Congress with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, and has worked with the Wesley Foundation at Purdue University. He was appointed to the Township Board on August 2020, and served as the Board President from January 2021 until his appointment as Township Trustee in January 2022.
Ian Pytlarz - Board President
Ian and his wife have lived in Wabash Township for over a decade and had their first child in early 2021. Ian works at Purdue University as Lead Data Scientist and has degrees in Business and Statistics/Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon and Purdue. A self-described nerd, Ian enjoys playing board games in his spare time and has a collection of nearly 300. He was appointed to the Township Board in February 2022, and serves the role of Board President.
David Tate - Board Secretary
David Tate, his wife Maureen, and his son Ryan are longtime residents of the community. David retired from Purdue University, where he was the Director of Medical Laboratory and Forensic Sciences, as well as a Hovde Outstanding Faculty Fellow. He is the chaplain for the Wabash Township Fire Department, the Lafayette Fire Department, and the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department. A devout Catholic, he is also active with the Knights of Columbus. He was appointed to the Township Board in April 2021, and has been been serving as Board Secretary since February 2022.
Brendan Betz - Board Member
Brendan Betz is a passionate young professional and public servant from West Lafayette. He sees his public service as a way to contribute to our community in lasting, meaningful ways. This is why he turned his attention toward working in local government. In addition to the service in the township, Brendan works for a family-owned local business. He works in design and project management; primarily though he is the Sales Manager for new construction with Burton Pools for both residential and commercial work across central Indiana. He enjoys traveling, hiking with his dog, and spending time with family and friends. He was elected to the Township Board in 2018, and served as the Board Secretary from January 2019 to February 2022.
